What is

The Pink Skirt Project?

THE STORY

In 2018, Renée Warren was sitting around a table of female entrepreneurs. They were breaking bread, discussing ideas and helping each other get unstuck in their business.

As an icebreaker, one lady asked the group, “what is your definition of success?” The women shared their stories, and like a bolt of lightning, Renée got a download –success is self-defined and the collective stories of all women.

She had a vivid vision of what that meant. A room packed with female entrepreneurs, a stage, the spotlight, a standing ovation and a bright pink skirt.

She had never seen this skirt before, but knew it was a powerful image that would represent something bigger than her: It represented the collective voices and stories of that room ––the wins, the losses, the bits of life in between the rollercoaster of entrepreneurship. It meant the struggles everyone faced as women in business, battling boundaries and barriers not faced by men. The struggles that most women were willing to face if it meant that the outcome was a bigger spotlight on them, showing the world what they all have to offer, the impact they can create and the legacy they will leave behind.

Then, in 2019 as Renée attended a conference in Palm Springs, packed with thousands of female creative entrepreneurs and influencers, she attended a fashion show put on by an influential designer. Within minutes of the show starting, a model came around the corner, and down the runway wearing the exact skirt in her vision ––THE bright pink skirt!

It was the confirmation needed to pursue this idea of empowering more women to redefine success on their own terms.
